Effects of Negative Thinking

“Your Only Limit Is You” is a true statement, but negative thinking takes that away.

We tell ourselves lies, half-truths, and everything but the truth. We all have that inner critic in our heads. It’s the loud-mouthed ego, full of opinions, which creates self-doubt. The worst lies aren’t the ones our friends tell us. We tell ourselves the worst lies through negative thinking, lies that turn into fear.

Creating thoughts that make us blind to amazing opportunities. The mind is a real magician. It can create such an illusion that we forget to question whether it’s the truth. It’s time to explore your mind and ask yourself, “What lies have I been telling myself?”

I’m Not Good Enough

Yes, you are! The more you tell yourself “you’re not good enough,” the more it becomes ingrained in your mind. Eventually, the lie you feed yourself grows and subconsciously becomes the truth. Listen. Stop looking for answers in all the wrong places, but instead, look within. Your confidence lives inside you. It is a permanent part of who you are. Instead, our ego compares us to others, and with enough lies, we can silence even the highest form of confidence.

Take the example of nature. A flower does not compare itself to the flower next to it. It just blooms. Worry about loving yourself instead of the thought of others loving you. Don’t become a carbon copy of the beliefs of the people we want to impress.

My Goals Are Impossible

If someone gave up on their dreams, don’t let them talk you out of going after yours. It’s only impossible if you never try. Let your dreams be more significant than your fears. Take risks. Don’t just make safe and comfortable choices because you’re afraid. Do your future a favor and do things every day that move you closer to the goal in mind.

Failure Is Bad

How many times does a baby fall before he/she can master the skill of walking? Sometimes you just have to crawl before you walk. The fact is sometimes you have to fail before you succeed. No matter how many times you fail, you are further in life than the individual that never tried.

Failure is not bad. Either you succeed or fail but learn a valuable lesson. It’s a Win-Win. Remember always get back up when you fall! Sometimes good things fall apart so opportunities can fall into place.

My Past Relationship Was a Waste

Time being a limited resource, it’s unfortunate that the time we put in can’t be given back. Certain people just aren’t meant to be in your life. If they aren’t meant to be there, why force it? However, no relationship is a waste of time. If it doesn’t give you what you’d like, at least it’ll teach you what you don’t want.

Relationships are a great way to become truly self-aware. They’re a self-reflection as if someone held a mirror to your face and showed you your flaws. Take things with a grain of salt. Know your worth. Never force someone to make space in their life for you.

I’m Stuck With People Who Hurt Me

Life’s situations sometimes feel like you have to pick between two crossroads. Do you feel stuck with a friend or partner? Listen. Life is too short. If someone continuously disrespects you, have enough respect for yourself to walk away. It’s not about walking away to make the other person realize what they lost.

What’s important is to walk away and understand and acknowledge your self-worth. Walking away has nothing to do with weakness and everything to do with strength. Remember it’ll hurt for a while, but you’ll be OK.

Things Will Just Fall Into Place

We perform the norm in society, doing the same duplicate routine and waiting for a fantasy to appear to change things. I do believe some things are meant to be, but we are who we choose to be. The reality is no one is going to come and save you. Others can’t read your mind and know what you want out of life. Be the architect of your destiny.

We shouldn’t wait for someone to build the dreams of our lives. Take responsibility for your past, and present, and become proactive in your future.

I Have Too Much to Lose

Are your dreams realistic? Don’t be that person that will look back with regret! Days, weeks, months, and years pass by. It’s easier to hesitate. A lot of people wait for the right moment. There is no right moment. Create the right moment. Whatever you have planned, get started on it today. In the end, you will not regret the things you have done but rather the things you have not done.

Closing Thoughts

Look deep within yourself and hear your inner critic. Distinguish between the lies and truths you’ve been telling yourself for so long. Today is the day you can make things change. Be fearless. Whatever you have in mind go out there and do it! Destroy your self-doubts. Once tomorrow comes, today is lost forever. Remember time is your most significant limited resource. Time is the only thing you should truly fear wasting. Explore the mind and stop lying to yourself today! Unleash your mindset!
